Cold Water Shock
The record breaking weather for May saw a tragic period of water related deaths (not related to paddlesports) in the UK, reinforcing research from Bournemouth University highlighting the increase in probability of UK drownings with warmer weather. Please always wear a buoyancy aid when paddling on cold water (water under 15 degrees Celsius). It has the ability to buy you vital time in order to recover from the effects of cold water shock should you immerse yourself.
